Dear Friends & Supporters, It is with a soft heart that I share with you that this kind space at 5854 college avenue has closed. It has been a true honor and dream come true to have created hawthorn and to have the opportunity to share it with all of you. Nine years ago I opened this shop with a dream of having a sustainable store focused on supporting independent women, creating a kind empowering community and spreading awareness of consuming responsibly while treading lightly on this earth. I can proudly say that I feel in my heart, thanks to all of you ~ supporters, friends, designers, incredible staff & customers, that we collectively achieved just that. Thank you. Thank you all for every act of kindness, support, vulnerable authentic conversation and connection that you all shared and brought to the shop. This past fall I was diagnosed with a severe cervical spine condition & a recent MRI showed compression on my spinal cord, making major surgery necessary and urgent. I’m incredibly grateful to have the support of my family, a thoughtful medical team, the ability to have this life saving surgery and the time and support needed for recovery. I thank you all in advance for your kindness and thoughtfulness in light of the reason behind our closing.
